A Renter Is Refusing to Pay Late or Damage Fees – Now What?

< 1 min read

When a borrower rents through Vaulted, they agree to our Terms & Conditions, which include any late fees or damage charges.

If fees apply – for example, for late returns or damage – these are charged to the card on file after investigation has finished.

In rare cases where the charge can’t be processed, we allow up to 14 days for the borrower to update their payment method. If they don’t, the matter is passed to our debt collection agency to recover the fees. The Renter will incur all debt collection fee’s.

Vaulted acts as the platform facilitating rentals between lenders and borrowers. While we automatically charge any late or damage fees to the borrower’s card on file – and escalate to our debt collection agency if needed – Vaulted holds no liability if the borrower fails to pay and debt recovery is unsuccessful.

All rentals are entered into at the lender’s own risk, and Vaulted’s role is to provide the platform and support processes, not to guarantee payment outcomes.
