We always recommend keeping timestamped photos or videos of your item before and after every rental. Think of it as your insurance policy – if anything happens during the rental and a dispute comes up, this proof is essential. Without it, Vaulted won’t be able to step in on damage claims.
What to capture:
- Show the item’s overall condition clearly.
- Include any existing damage (if applicable) so there’s a record.
Before sending your item:
- Take photos within 24 hours before posting the item to the renter.
After the item is returned:
- Take photos on the day it arrives back to you.
- Inspect it fully and notify the renter immediately if you spot any damage.
