My Item Has Come Back Damaged – What Now?

If your item comes back damaged, Vaulted will work with you to help recover the cost of repair or replacement wherever possible.

As the lender, you’ll need to report the damage within 24 hours of the item being returned by submitting a request through the Help Centre.

And this part is crucial: always take timestamped photos before and after each rental so there’s a clear record of the item’s condition. Without this evidence, we may not be able to assist with recovering costs.


Vaulted provides the platform that connects lenders and borrowers. We facilitate rentals and support the process, but we do not take responsibility for the loss or damage of any items rented through the platform, nor do we guarantee payment outcomes.

All rentals are undertaken at the lender’s own risk. While we will do everything possible to assist with reimbursements in the event of loss or damage, Vaulted is not liable for the payment of these costs.
